In my book, Rising Up, people are responsible for their moods. All their emotions are monitored. If they fail to control their negative emotions, they are punished by a rise and fall of Status where material goods and survival goods are at stake. In that society, a person can be banished as well. We don't live in Tranquility, but we wrestle with this issue each day.
What can we do to manage our own happiness? And, I believe we can. One way is to reduce levels of stress in our lives. I've found that one real game-changer is exercise. Now, I'm not saying you have to run out and join a gym. For me, it's a daily walk. I like taking my fur baby, Honey, with me. She needs to feel good, too! Being active boosts your body’s production of endorphins, the hormones that make you feel good.
So here's to happiness today! Get moving!
